Samsara CM32 vs Lytx SF400: Commercial Dashcam 2026

Samsara's AI detects distracted driving, tailgating, rolling stops, harsh events, and more with impressive accuracy and few false positives. Lytx's MV+AI technology is similarly advanced with strong detection capabilities. Both are best-in-class.

The CM32 records in 1080p with solid night vision and a wide field of view. The SF400 also records in 1080p with good image quality. Samsara's video compression is slightly better, preserving more detail in uploaded footage.

Lytx pioneered video-based driver coaching and their programs are the most mature in the industry. Their coaching workflow, scoring algorithms, and safety improvement tracking are exceptionally well-developed. Samsara's coaching tools are good but less refined.

Samsara's unified fleet dashboard is a significant advantage — dashcam data integrates seamlessly with ELD, GPS, and maintenance data in one view. Lytx's dashboard is good for camera data but does not include the broader fleet context.
